If you are looking for an affordable way to take advantage of the best of what Sudbury has to offer, you have come to the right place. In six simple steps, Ramsey Lake will be yours to discover.

  1. Download (see below) or obtain the appropriate Registration Form from the Club Office.
  2. Fill out the Registration Form.
  3. Ensure that EVERY MEMBER has completed their own Release of Liability.
  4. Mail or drop off your completed forms and payment to 506 Elizabeth St., Sudbury, ON P3E 2X7.
  5. Arrange for certification in your discipline(s) of choice (Sea Kayak, Canoe, Windsurf, Sprint, Dragon Boat and/or White Water) by contacting the Club office.
  6. Exchange or purchase your clubhouse key.
  7. Enjoy all the benefits of being a member of the Sudbury Canoe Club!

2010 Fee Structure:

Reduced rates are available for family members living in the same residence.

Adult (16+) $100 + HST   Introductory Sea Kayak Lesson $40 / 3 Hours + HST
Additional Adult $80 + HST   Canoe Kids Camp $180 / Week
Youth (10-15) $60 + HST   Youth Athlete Development $350 / Year
Child (<10) $10 + HST   Non-competitive Sprint fee  $175 / Year

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP:

ACCESS

As a member of the Sudbury Canoe Club, you have the right to purchase a key that will grant you access to the clubhouse and equipment at anytime of the day. So when you just can’t ignore the pull of the water any longer, the SCC is here to provide you with everything you need to safely enjoy Sudbury’s greatest asset, Ramsey Lake.

LESSONS

Lessons in Canoeing, Outrigger Canoeing, Windsurfing, Dragon Boating and Sprint Paddling are included in the cost of membership and are arranged on an individual basis.

Discounted rates are available for members wishing to learn or improve their Sea Kayaking skills through a lesson led by Rick Wise of Horizon Adventures.

Winter memberships can also be purchased if you wish to practice with the SCC Kayak Polo team at the Jeno Tihanyi Olympic Gold Pool at Laurentian University.

TRIPS & EVENTS

Members can sign up for daytrips to several locations around the North. Paddle the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay on a guided Sea Kayak excursion, or come play with us in the Secord Rapids on the Wahnapitei River one evening.

There are several events to choose from throughout the summer. Enter the Sudbury Fitness Challenge Canoe Marathon in June, Paddle under the fireworks on Canada Day, or mingle with other members at one of our social events. Stay tuned to the events calendar for more exciting opportunities!
